211 is a multilingual and confidential service that connects individuals to critical resources including food, shelter, rental assistance, childcare, and more. Our 211 database contains more than 7,000 health and human resources and is updated daily to help community members meet basic needs.
Firearm Prevention
This compilation of resources was developed by a team of researchers at the Injury and Violence Prevention Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, with extensive background and experience in firearm injury prevention and research. The team conducted expert interviews and searched for the most relevant and up-to-date resources on all topics surrounding firearm-related harms and injury prevention. This selection of resources serves as a tool for anyone interested in firearm injury prevention, including researchers, lawmakers, nonprofit groups, and the public.

Mental Health Resources
STRUGGLE OF LOVE FOUNDATION
Struggle of Love Foundation is committed to providing essential mental health support and community resources to youth and families in the Denver metro area. Their mission is to ensure that individuals facing emotional and financial hardships have access to the care they need.
Services Offered:
Individual and Group Therapy – Clients can receive up to 10 free therapy sessions. If additional care is needed, services can be covered by private insurance or offered on a sliding-scale fee based on income.
Youth and Family Support – Programs include mentoring, competitive sports teams, school supply drives, food assistance, toy giveaways, and community picnics.
Mental Health Awareness & Outreach – The foundation collaborates with local nonprofits to expand access to mental health education and resources in underserved communities.
WELLPOWER
WellPower is Colorado’s largest community mental health center, known locally and nationally as a model for innovative and effective behavioral health care. They provide a range of services for individuals and families, including mental health and behavioral health programs. With over 30 sites and nearly 200 locations throughout the community, they offer accessible care in various settings, from hospitals and assisted living facilities to schools and shelters. To schedule a first-time appointment, individuals can contact their Access Center by calling (303) 504-7900.
IMATTER
IMatter focuses on increasing access to mental health services and reducing barriers to care by providing free, confidential mental health therapy for youth in Colorado, offering up to six sessions at no cost. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, or stress, I Matter makes it easier to access professional help without the need for insurance. Sessions are available primarily via telehealth, but in-person appointments may also be arranged.
Youth ages 12 and older can access services without requiring parental consent, ensuring that even if you're navigating challenges independently, support is still available. If you need care beyond the initial six sessions, I Matter connects you to additional resources to ensure continued support. Services are also offered in both English and Spanish for better accessibility.
Michelle Simmons Counseling Group
Michelle Simmons Counseling Group is dedicated to providing warm and engaging mental health therapy services to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. They offer individual, family, and group therapy addressing various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Services are available both in-person at their Aurora and Denver offices, as well as statewide via telehealth. They accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid, and offer a sliding-scale payment option to ensure accessibility.
Youthseen
Youth Seen supports the mental health and well-being of LGBTQI+ youth and their families by providing affirming therapy, peer mentorship, and support groups. Their services include free mental health programming, social activities, and summer programs that foster community and self-expression. They also offer training and workshops to improve LGBTQI+ inclusivity in organizations. Youth Seen is committed to creating safe, supportive spaces where every young person feels valued and empowered.
The Blue Bench
The Blue Bench is Metro Denver's only comprehensive sexual assault prevention and support center. They provide free to low-cost services, including therapy and case management for sexual assault survivors. Additionally, they offer prevention programming aimed at educating the community. Services are available in both English and Spanish, with options for in-person and online sessions. Legacy Foundation for Family and Community Development
The Legacy Foundation for Family and Community Development (LFFCD) is a Denver-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families through youth, family, and community development. With a mission to disarm any weapon formed against our children, LFFCD provides mentorship, parent education, reunification support, and guidance to help families navigate challenges. They serve fathers, young men, mothers, and entire families, creating lasting, positive change. Through collaborations with local organizations like Star Girlz Empowerment, LFFCD expands its reach and impact.
